Hi Igor, thanks so much for providing so much detailed information! We’re the 5th day in Iceland and every day I’ve been using this website to plan all our activities, from selecting the right 4X4 to during the travel itself!
The interactive map is the missing piece of the puzzle! This makes it very easy to check what’s around, especially interesting when adjusting the travel plans is required.
Thanks a million!

Thank you very much Elke for your kind words! I hope you will enjoy Iceland to the fullest and come back again some day!

Hi Igor, I spent endless hours on your website and youtube channel, found tons of really useful and amazing information! Congratulations for all the work you guys have done, it’s awesome and really helpful to all those planning their trip to Iceland!
I’m going to buy your map, I’m pretty sure it’ll come very in handy on our trip that starts on August, 25.
One thing I notice it seems to be missing that I found elsewhere, are the toilets location. I think it would be great to have them on it. Other than that, it looks like everything is in there!
Thank you!

Hi Fabio, thank you so much for your nice words! Hope you’ll have a fantastic trip! And thanks for the toilet tip, that’s a good idea we will add them with the next update!

I’m trating to download the map, but is impossible, please contact with me to these email [email protected]
I see that you made a great work and I will like to enjoy my trip with your advices

Hi David, I checked, and I believe you should have a well-working access now 🙂 If anything, let us know!

Hi,
When I click on the “buy now” button, it keeps “processing” but never continues. Tried on different browsers and different devices.
Regards,
Sam

Hi Sam, we had a short-term issue with the payment system – now everything works perfectly 🙂 Hope you enjoy the map!

I already downloaded the map, the truth is that it is very complete more because it links to the web, good job

Thank you very much David! I hope you will enjoy the map and your Icelandic trip too!

Hi, I’d like to purchase access to this map but when pressing the button, it only says: “The response is not a valid JSON response.”. Thanks for your help!

Hi Marc, I just contacted you, it should work.

Hi Igor, I have spent hours reading your site gathering incredible information for our upcoming trip to the Iceland highlands. It has been so helpful and I want to thank you for that! 1 question I have is if the map includes any of the river crossings on the f roads. Thank you!

Hi Pennie and thank you very much!
The map includes what type of river crossings you should expect for each road (small/medium/large). The river crossings are not marked yet each by each on the map, but this is a very good suggestion, we will definitely add this in upcoming months!

Hi Igor, this is really a great guide, indeed. I am planning an extensive Iceland trip myself utilising my Range Rover Evoque 4×4 which is 11 years old, hence old enough for any Iceland unbills. Basic planning was so far based on James Rushforth’s books Photographing Iceland I and II which cost inc. detailled map around € 110, which is a good investment bearing in mind the wealth of information you get inc. detailled photo location tipps. Later I can finish the details using your mobile app and use it on the spot while in Iceland. A lifetime app access for just € 39.90 is a real bargain. Thank you for being so generous – much appreciated. Great stuff! Cheers, Michael from the German North Sea Coast.

Thank you for your kind words Michael! Hope you will enjoy your trip to the fullest!

Hi Igor,
We’ve been using your site more than any other as we plan a trip this June and July. thanks for all of your efforts – it’s an amazing resource! I’d like to buy your map and just have one question: for now it’s much easier to do our planning on our home computer with a large monitor, but on our trip we will only have our phones. If I buy access using my google account will it work to sign in on my home computer prior to the trip and then via my Iphone once in Iceland, or would the system tracking use interpret that as “distributing to someone else” because it’s a different device, even if the same google account?
Thanks for your help,
Erik

Hi Erik, thank you very much! If it’s one Google account, it should work both on PC and mobile phone well, we haven’t had any complaints so far 🙂
Also if you could write us a short review to our Google Maps: https://g.page/r/CaJt1bHCTbF1EBM/review and Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/EpicIcelandReal/reviews, we would highly appreciate that!
Have an amazing trip!

Hi Igor,
What a fantastic map! The only thing I cannot find is what the difference is between blue, red and black spots. Regards Marloes

Thank you very much Marloes!

The map legend is in the bottom right corner, the main logic is:

  • blue = should be accessible all-year-round
  • red = may or may not be accessible all-year-round / mixed / medium accessibility
  • black = only accessible in summer / hard to access
Soňa Havlasová

How many devices can I use the map on? Can I use it on my tablet and phone? Plan my trip on tablet – then use phone on the spot. Thank you. Nice work, the map looks fantastic.

Hi Soňa, you can use it on both devices – as long as you use the same Google account

Hi does this map help with navigating the F roads? I am looking for a reliable map to reference while travelling on the highland F roads.

Hi Jody, our map contains latest available routes for all F-roads. Beware though, you have to “load” the map while having an internet connection and you cannot close the map (or tab with the map on your phone) otherwise you will temporarily lose the data on the map, until your internet connection is restored.

Hi Igor, Can these maps be printed? I am interested in buying them.

Hi Hemraj, we don’t have a printed version yet. Maybe sometimes in the future 🙂 thanks for the idea

Hello, we are going around Christmas time, is there a way to filter for December spots vs summertime places? Thank you

Hi Cathy, spots on the map are typically marked with three colors:

  • blue – easily accessible all-year-round
  • red – may or may not be accessible also in winter, depends on conditions
  • black – most of the time not accessible in winter

So this is the way to filter them out 🙂
